Beyond the translation

Song interpretation

This soulful song expresses the deep pain, heartache, and longing of a lover who has been discarded in love. The protagonist addresses the moon as a silent confidante, pouring out the anguish held within his heart. He questions his beloved's indifference, asking if a heart is merely a book to read and return, or love a building to demolish at will. He wishes that in another birth, she would be born as a man and experience the exact same heartbreak to truly understand his agony. Expressing how his life has become a journey of tears and how even his sleep is haunted by phantom sounds of her anklets, he laments how the grief of all failed loves seems to be flowing through his eyes.
