Beyond the translation

Song interpretation

Kadhal Cricketu from the 2015 action-thriller Thani Oruvan is a playful, upbeat solo track sung from the perspective of the female protagonist, Mahima (played by Nayanthara). Using cricket metaphors, she humorously describes falling head over heels for Mithran (Jayam Ravi) at first sight, metaphorically losing her wicket and getting 'duck out' immediately. She vents her lighthearted frustration about constantly chasing him while he acts indifferent and ignores her efforts.
