Vinnilae ven megamaai kalainthaeDispersing like white clouds in the sky,
Naan mella mella karainthenI slowly, slowly dissolved away.
Male
Azhugai ennum aruviyilInto the waterfall known as weeping,
Dhinam dhinam naanum vilunthenaeI kept falling day after day.
Nilavae un nizhalinaiOh moon, your shadow,
Thodarnthida naanum vizhainthenaeI longed to follow.
Male
Yen ennai pirinthaaiWhy did you separate from me,
Uyirae… uyirae..My soul... my life..
Kaadhalai eriththaai en azhagaeYou burned our love, my beauty,
Male
Yen ennai pirinthaaiWhy did you separate from me,
Uyirae… uyirae..My soul... my life..
Kanneeril uraindhaai kanavae..You froze inside my tears, my dream..
