Song interpretation
This devotional hymn from the 1950 movie 'Laila Majnu' praises Prophet Muhammad (referred to as Nabinaayagam). The song begins by praising his glorious stature, divine grace, and his honorable place among the 124,000 prophets recognized in Islamic tradition. It extols him as a merciful protector and refuge for the helpless and downtrodden. The second half narrates a well-known Islamic folk tale regarding Prophet Muhammad and a trapped mother deer. When a hunter captures a deer, she begs to nurse her young fawns, promising to return. The Prophet offers himself as collateral to the hunter to guarantee her return.
