Beyond the translation
Song interpretation
In this song from the epic mythological movie Lava Kusa (1963), the young twin brothers Lava and Kusa comfort their mother, Sita. Unaware of the true identity of Sri Rama as their father, they proudly proclaim their exceptional valor, stating they can surpass even Sri Rama in battle. They ask their mother why she is weeping so inconsolably like torrential rain and offer to defeat Rama and bring him before her if that would end her grief.
