Song interpretation
This emotional tragic track expresses a lover's ultimate devotion and overwhelming grief over the loss of his beloved. He declares that his body and life are entirely dedicated to her, reminiscing about how she sang of love just yesterday before tragically closing her eyes forever. In his despair, he feels as though the divine flowers are burning, the sun has faded, and nature itself has shattered. Unable to bear the pain, he calls upon the sky to collapse, the breeze to stop, and fire to consume him so he can join her.

Naalaiya Theerpu (1992) marked the silver screen debut of Tamil cinema superstar Vijay in a lead role, directed by his father S. A. Chandrasekhar. The music for this film was composed by M. M. Srilekha under the screen name Manimekalai, making her one of the youngest female music composers in South Indian cinema at the age of 12.
