Female: Hmm

Just because the soft breeze came and touched you,
What was diminished in your body, my girl?
Just because hands touched a little,
Why did your cheeks turn red, my girl?
Why did your cheeks turn red, my girl?

When hands touched the cheeks, a little
It felt cozy and warm.

When hands touched the cheeks, a little
It felt cozy and warm.
The cheeks that were like unripe fruits
Turned into ripe fruits and flushed red.

The swan-like creeper and youthful fruit,
Why did the clothing conceal it, my girl?
The swan-like creeper and youthful fruit,
Why did the clothing conceal it, my girl?
Why did the clothing conceal it, my girl?
Only because the clothing concealed it,
Desire grew right there.
Desire grew right there.

Beyond the translation
Song interpretation
This classic romantic duet unfolds as a playful and intimate dialogue between two lovers. The hero teasingly asks the heroine why her body reacts so strongly to touch, why her cheeks blush, and why clothes hide her beauty. In response, the heroine gracefully explains that touch brings gentle warmth and modesty only heightens longing. In the final stanza, the hero wonders how two individuals born to different parents could bond so deeply, to which the heroine poetically answers that their hearts merged naturally, like moonlight glistening on water.
