Song interpretation
In this poignant song from the film 'Paalum Pazhamum', the protagonist laments to the Goddess (Mother Divine) about the tragedy and tragic masquerade taking place in her life. Having been reunited with her beloved husband after being thought dead, circumstances now force her to conceal her true identity from him to preserve his happiness and medical stability. She questions how long this artificial 'drama' must continue on the stage of life, where night and day blur, the moon is separated from its sky, and a second marriage is being planned for her husband while her own sacred knot remains hidden. Ultimately, she submits to the divine will, declaring the Goddess as the director of this drama, and prays selflessly for the protection and well-being of her beloved husband, regardless of her own fate.
