With the obsession of my mind
Out of madness
Due to the war of love
With my own blood
I wrote a poem, my friend
If you have two eyes, read it and move on
The moment I saw your eyes
The moment I saw your calf legs
The moment I saw you as a woman
The moment I watched you from behind at a distance
Even if burnt, my heart will not forget
It has not expressed everything yet
By scolding me
By insulting me
By punishing my heart
By severing my head
I will say my love never ends
If you tell me to scoop up fire and eat it, I will eat it
There is no word saying you are mine
Kill me by telling me to stop
There is no word saying come to me
Kill me by telling me to go
If you utter a nod of consent, heaven is right here
If you are not there, the graveyard is nearby
Sithathinaal konda
With the obsession of my mind
Pithathinaal
Out of madness
Kaadhal yudhathinal
Due to the war of love
Enadhu rathathinaal

Beyond the translation
Song interpretation
This passionate verse captures the absolute devotion and obsession of a lover. The speaker writes poetry with his own blood, driven mad by the warfare of love, declaring that every detailed vision of his beloved is indelibly etched in his heart. No amount of scolding, punishment, or physical harm—even decapitation—can diminish his affection. He expresses total submission to her will, ready to perform impossible feats like consuming fire or facing death if she bids it, concluding that her presence brings heaven while her rejection brings the grave.

Poetic devices
Iyaibu (End Rhyme)
“Sithathinaal konda / Pithathinaal / Kaadhal yudhathinal / Enadhu rathathinaal”
Repetition of the ending suffix '-inaal' across consecutive lines (Sithathinaal, Pithathinaal, yudhathinal, rathathinaal).
Hyperbole (Exaggeration)
“Enadhu rathathinaal kavidhai ezhuthi vaithen thozhi / Nee thee alli thinna sol thinben”
Exaggerated expressions of devotion such as writing poetry in blood and eating fire upon command.
Antithesis (Contrast)
“Imm endraal ullathadi sorgam / Nee illai endraal eidukaadu pakkam”
Contrasting the extreme states of existence—heaven versus the cremation ground—based on her presence.
