This poem by Mahakavi Subramanya Bharathiyar is written in the traditional Tamil genre of 'Kili Thoodhu' (Parrot Messenger). The heroine addresses a companion parrot, asking if it possesses the eloquence and ability to deliver a heartfelt message to her divine beloved, Lord Murugan. She reminisces about intimate past moments shared with him—standing near a lily pond during twilight by a jasmine plant, and strolling hand-in-hand through a tranquil grove.
