கனவினில் அது திளைத்தது

மனதுக்கு என்ன உன் வசம் தானே

கனவுக்கு என்ன அது இலவசம் தானே

My heart thought of you every single day...

It immersed itself completely in dreams...

What can my heart do? It is under your control after all.

What about dreams? They are free of cost after all.

நிலவென நினைத்தது நிலவில்லையா நான்

மலரென நினைத்தது மலரில்லையா நீ

எனக்கென நினைத்தது நிஜமில்லையா

நான் நினைத்தது போல் நீ நினைக்கலையா

Is what I thought to be the moon, not really the moon?

Is what I thought to be a flower, not really a flower?

Is it not true that I believed you were mine?

Did you not feel the same way that I felt?

பலருக்கு காதல் தொடர்கதை அது

சிலருக்கு மட்டும் சிறுகதை நீ

எழுதுகின்றாய் இன்று புதுக்கதை

அது எனக்கு மட்டும் ஏன் விடுகதை

For many people, love is an ongoing serial story.

For a few people, it turns out to be just a short story.

Today, you are writing a brand new story.

Why is it an unsolved riddle only for me?

ஆற்றுக்கும் கடலுக்கும் அலை உறவு

என் காதலும் கவிதையும் நிலை உறவு

உன் அழகுக்கும் அறிவுக்கும் இலை உறவு

நீ இல்லையென்றால் என் நிலை துறவு

Between the river and the ocean lies the bond of waves.

My love and my poetry share an enduring, permanent bond.

Between your beauty and intellect lies a subtle bond.

If you are not with me, my life will turn into renunciation.
