Song interpretation

This song from the 1980 movie 'Oru Velladu Vengaiyagiradhu' is a flirtatious and playful duet between a man indulging in drink and a alluring woman serving/entertaining him. The male protagonist asks her to pour more drink, expressing how intoxicated and enamored he feels by her gaze and presence. The female protagonist responds with playful coy charm, comparing her beauty to sugarcane and describing the playful tension of affection and shyness between them as they flirt by the riverbank.
