Beyond the translation

Song interpretation

This song is a romantic, flirtatious duet wherein the lovers praise each other's beauty through elaborate classical Tamil poetic metaphors. The male lead compares his beloved's hair to dark rainclouds, her demeanor to a gentle breeze, and her lips to honeyed roses. In turn, the female lead expresses her shyness, describing her bashfulness overflowing like river waves.
