Song interpretation
Adaiyaalam Yeraalam from Vairamuthu's independent audio project Naatpadu Theral is a bittersweet story of lost love and nostalgia. Two former lovers look back at their childhood, innocent romantic encounters, and eventual painful separation. Rural milestones—such as a street light, a stream bank, a village temple, and a lightning-struck banyan tree—stand as permanent physical witnesses to their memories even though fate forced them onto separate paths.
