In the trap of love,
The young fawn got caught.
If sorrow comes to those who embraced it,
It stands alone and grieves.
A motherless deer calf,
A deer calf that embraced loneliness,
In the hands that tenderly embrace it,
A deer calf that has settled down.
A motherless deer calf,
A deer calf that embraced loneliness,
In the hands that tenderly embrace it,
A deer calf that has settled down,
A deer calf that has settled down.
It thinks of moving away,
Yet some sense of duty holds it back.
It thinks of flying away,
Yet affection comes and clouds its path.
Just a few days ago,
It was a stubborn calf, O lady.
Known as a fool and a rogue,
It was a calf that earned such a name, O lady.
A motherless deer calf,
A deer calf that embraced loneliness,
In the hands that tenderly embrace it,
A deer calf that has settled down,
A deer calf that has settled down.
Once trapped in the net of love,
It became a devoted servant calf, O lady.
Even God Almighty is a servant,
Only to true love, do tell her, O lady.

The very house it stepped into,
You regard as a sacred temple.
If you consider it the golden crown atop the temple,
He shrinks back in humility and suffers in emotion.

Beyond the translation
Song interpretation
This poignant song expresses the inner transformation of a lonely, motherless protagonist who compares himself to a stray fawn caught in the affectionate embrace of a family. Once considered stubborn, reckless, and foolish, he has been completely reformed and bound by the warmth and kindness extended to him. Though he occasionally feels like running away, the deep bond of love and duty keeps him anchored.
