Beyond the translation
Song interpretation
This song is a deeply emotional prayer directed to Goddess Durga (Sakthi). The protagonist surrenders to the divine mother, lighting camphor and lifting her hands in intense prayer. She grieves over a painful separation from her beloved, which happened because she unwittingly listened to bad advice from others, and wonders if it was caused by her own past bad deeds or cruel fate.
